The cottage makes a perfect base for touring the island, while the immediate local area offers several possibilities for walks. Wander down the estuary to the coral island and lose yourself in tranquillity. Hunt for fossils; spot otters and seals; find rare flowers; see herons, oystercatchers and numerous other birds; visit the fascinating old graveyard at Ashaig and Pulpit Rock where St Molruadh brought Christianity to the island.
Boat trips are available in several villages around the area.
Skye is famed for its spectacular Cuillin mountains - some of the best climbing in Britain. For walkers, there is an extensive system of coastal and high level pathways providing glorious views and wildlife in abundance. Guides are available.
There are many fascinating visitor attractions throughout the island. Craft shops, potteries, galleries and local designer clothes shops are located in several villages. Nearby is the amazing High Pasture Cave, where archaelogists continue to find fascinating remains and insights into our past.
Portree and Kyle of Lochalsh have swimming pools, and a golf course is situated at Sconser, half an hour away.
